From Egyptian Secrets of Albertus Magnus, Joseph H. Peterson edition:
An Excellent Ointment for Erysipelas.
Take the flowers of St. John's herb, wool flowers, white lily leaves, red rose leaves, of each a good handful; pour one pound of sweet oil over it and distil in the sun. When preparing the ointment take two thimblefuls of oil and one of cut bees-wax and render it down in the oil, and with the ointment thus obtained grease the injury.
