From Egyptian Secrets of Albertus Magnus, Joseph H. Peterson edition:
A horse affected with this disease, feed evenings and mornings with pure oats, and give it for a drink a pail of pure water. When the horse takes its mouth out of the water, hold a clean dish under its mouth, in order to catch all the water that runs out of the mouth again, therein; this water strain through a cloth, and give to the sick two or three spoonfuls thereof, and rinse the mouth with the domestic powder. Henry de Kaltenthal has used it during war times, and became fully convinced of its curative qualities.
